We've had a busy and exciting week. We found out about the Summer holiday reading programme that the local library will have. On Thursday we had some dancers perform for us and on Friday we had our junior athletics afternoon. Here's a photo of the obstacle course from our athletics.
We are a year 1 and 2 class at Greytown School in New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Smyth. Welcome to our blog! Have a look to see what's happening in our class, what we are learning and to check out up and coming events. Room 2 kids love feedback about their work so please leave a comment telling us what you think.

Term 2 Week 1 (19-23 April)
Welcome back! I hope everyone has had a great break and is ready for a busy term of learning.
For topic this term, we will explore our 5 senses. We will investigate how they help us and what life would be like if one of our senses didn't work properly. Homework will start this week with reading and spelling. Basic facts will begin next week.
Our P.E. topic for the next few weeks is called Lasting the distance. We will be running regularly each week and so your child will need suitable shoes.

Week 2 2010
Wow! It's 2010 already.
We're back in class and busy getting know each other.
Swimming has started this week and there are lots of children who enjoy being in the water which is great to see. A big thank you to the parents who are helping out and to all those others who volunteered their time. I don't think I've ever had so many offers of parent help!
Our blog this year will consist of children's work, photos and information about the happenings in our class. Please feel free to have a look and give the children some feedback on their work.
